Harvard Kennedy School Professor Julie Wilson

Minnesota Harvard alums are invited to join Professor Julie Wilson for a stimulating presentation and discussion Wednesday evening, February 11, 2009 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, 11 Kellogg Blvd., on the riverfront downtown Saint Paul.  6 p.m Cocktails and light fare, 6:45 p.m. Program.  Members - $20, Non-Members - $25.

Julie is the Harry Kahn Senior Lecturer in Social Policy and Director of the Malcolm Wiener Center for Social Policy and Secretary of the Harvard Kennedy School (HKS).

She is a leading authority in poverty policy, family policy, and urban race relations. Among her recent projects are several case studies on the historical development of poor neighborhoods, studies on adoption from public agencies, and community-based strategies for strengthening families' capacities to parent. Wilson spent three years at the New York State Department of Social Services, where she directed the Office of Program Planning, Analysis, and Development.
